Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, Moses didn’t give you bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven. The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” John 6:32-33 NLT
The manna God fed to the children of Israel in the desert was a type of future provision that God would give, His own Son.
How can Jesus be my bread? We are talking about spiritual food here and not burger buns. Jesus had already given the crowds bread that divided miraculously but above He is talking about Himself. His words, His example are my bread. As I take them in and digest them and assimilate them into my life, they bring me life.
As we really listen to what He is saying and allow His words to change us we come alive. Amen!
