Worthy

Our Lord and God, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power, because You have created all things, and because of Your will they exist and were created. Revelation 4:11 HCSB

This book was written by a much older apostle John. He was on the Isle of Patmos and was visited by the Lord and taken to heaven. What John saw was nothing like he had ever seen before. He would have been hard pressed to describe it all.

However the above words were spoken by 24 elders who sat around the throne of God in response to the worship of other living creatures that were before them. The elders had crowns which they took off and put on the floor before them. They gave full honour to God seated in their midst.

We do not know who these elders are, nor have we ever met the 'living creatures' that had six wings and eyes all around. Suffice to say they were heavenly. Yet they knew truth. The truth they proclaimed and no doubt still proclaim is the glory of God and the fact that He created all things.

No matter what mankind may say about the creation of all things these outworldly creatures confessed what they knew, much like the knowing a born again Christian has about their relationship with the living God. Noone can dispute our relationship because it is a fact. These being had a relationship with a divine God which far supersedes any theory. Then because of this knowledge they worshipped and proclaimed God's glory.

He is worthy! Amen!
