Something New

For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Something new we welcome when we initiate it, have a say in it or are consulted about it. However, when it comes out of left field in unwelcomed clothing or boxing, what then?

I am away from home having a rest from caring for my mum. Last night my sister, who has stepped in to take my place for 6 weeks called to inform me that she and my mother want to re-home mum thousands of miles away in Tasmania. Not only will 9 hours of travelling further impede my mums deteriorating health, the circumstances there are not as safe or comfortable.

The idea of being in Tasmania is appealing to mum, she has an old friend there. However, the reality may prove otherwise. Whilst I will not stand in her way, I must be the voice of reason.

I always ask myself: Is God in this? If He is, I will not touch it. If He isn't however, I will roar. I went to the Lord and He gave me this verse. It seems I must trust Him and allow His outcome. Amen.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
