The River

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.

Think about the things of heaven; that's where life is. Again and again we need to come back to centre. Our compass is Jesus. Anything else pollutes our spirits and dulls our senses. 

Keeping our spirits clean and non-polluted is our work. A clean spirit ministers life to others, a river of life can flow out of us to bring healing to our world. 

We see many of the rivers in our world polluted by earthly things which destroy the life in the rivers. It is the same for us. Our rivers start out pure, full of the life of the spirit. However, if I have any other love in my life which pollutes me, it pollutes this river.

Our river is for the nations, let's keep it pure! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
