His house

I’m asking God for one thing, only one thing: To live with him in his house my whole life long. I’ll contemplate his beauty; I’ll study at his feet. Psalm 27:4 MSG

God's house was, for David, the centre of everything. He had long planned to build a temple for God, he amassed gold, silver and precious jewels. Yet God gave the task to David's son Solomon. So, for David, all of his life this was a dream. The closest he came to having a temple for God was a tent. Yet he loved God's presence, he loved to worship and sing.

Here in Australia we are emerging from lockdown, in most states, except Victoria. We can now attend church as long as we social distance. Last week was my first week back. What a joy to sing with others, have communion and listen to the preaching in the flesh. Seeing church family was wonderful.

As Christians we have a house to which we all belong. Let us not be strangers. Amen!
