all things work together

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Romans 8:28 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/rom.8.28.NLT

When we are in the midst of a mess, illness, relational drama or devestation, all we can see is the problem. Take for instance this yesr 2020. It began with the outbreak of COVID19 and progressively consumed our countries, our finances, our lives.

It is now almost September and countries are in various stages of lockdown, attempting to revive their economies without killing too many people in allowing freedom to move about.

We the people are the carriers of the disease and in our efforts to live normally we infect the vulnerable. So, what  good can come from this time?

If scripture says all things, it means ALL THINGS. God uses hard times like sandpaper, to snoothe off the knots of offence and pain. As we turn to Him, He shows us a better way. This way starts with a new heart. A heart alive with Him. 

Consider the following:
Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. Romans 8:18‭-‬19 

Remember, this life is not about you, but others. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
