This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

I have been convicted of injustice in so many areas of life. In the name of success amd growth the poor are exploited. The love affair we have had with success is abominable when the cost is so great. Those who suffer are across society, in the body of Christ and without. It is so easy to blind ourseves to the harm we do by the giving of huge tithes. If the money that is made to pay the tithes come from crushing, exorbitant fees, then the Lord disregards our giving.

Again and again in scripture the Lord speaks out about injustice towards the poor, the orphans and widows. What good are grand buildings when heartlessness paid for it? We need to return to the Lord's heart for the vulnerable. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
