tempting me

And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. James 1:13 NLT

What causes temptation? The enemy of our souls sees a weakness and goes to work right there. The weak spots are areas not yet surrendered or areas we are not yet aware of or refuse to face. We are usually isolated in that we have noone who we share our all with or who are allowed to speak into our lives. We could have hidden desires or lusts.

The next problem arises when we assume what we are experiencing is a test instead of a temptation. We know that God tests us to proove us and reveal things in us. However, temptation is a different position.

James speaks to this misnomer in the book of James: 'Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters'. James 1:14‭-‬16

James, Jesus' half-brother tells it like it is. He is a plain speaker and we should listen to him.

If we really want to be free, Jesus provides a way. Amen!
