being heard
Now this is the confidence we have before Him: Whenever we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked Him for. 1 John 5:14-15 HCSB

For a little child, one of the biggest struggles is being heard. Some children are never listened to, their parents deaf to their voices, and more intent on their own preoccupations. This is sad. It leads to children misbehaving to find attention, albeit the wrong attention. I watched this happen with a nephew of mine. He had a sweet nature, but unfortunately was always talking, his mother had switched off.
We are blessed, as children of God, to be able to hear and be heard. We can be confident that our prayers are heard, especially those that seek His heart and His desires.
If is easy to believe that God does not hear, if we have been used to not being heard. James tells us that we must pray in faith, and also not for things to waste on our fleshly lives, but for things that are according ro His purpose.
If we want to know what things are according to His purposes, we need to humbly ask, show me Your heart Lord! Learning that Christianity is not just about us, but about others and our God is a good start.
