I am your God

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 HCSB

We need to be told: "do not fear, I am here". Little children hear: "Don't br afraid, Daddy is here", when they are stepping out into a scary new place, or perhaps a frightening medical procedure. Little children need to be held and comforted, so do we all.

We are God's children, if we allow ourselves to be. I say, if we allow ourselves to be, because our will stops many things and allows others. The deciding mechanism is not always a good, relaible indicator of truth. If we seek truth within ourselves we come up wanting. Truth, real, honest truth is only found in God and His word. We can trust Him. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
