in stillness

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14 NLT

In this Psalm we encounter declarations  without words:
The heavens declare the glory of the Lord, and the sky proclaims the work of His hand.
Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge.
There is no speech; there are no words; their voice is not heard.
Their message has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the end of the world (vs 1-4).

Today take time to listen to their message. Rest in stillness from business, from social media, from the noise of mankind. Listen and hear the important message!

Of late I have not wanted to hear the noise of mankind. I would rather seek the stillness of sunrise, and watch the beauty of sunset. They have a message. Their message is the faithfulness of my God, His unworried presence, His calm in the storm.

Turn off the noise and wait for the Lord. He is wanting to pour out His Spirit,  refresh His people and take them on a journey with Him,  speak to them in the quietness, the still, small voice.

Now is the time to seek the Lord! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
