temptations
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT

Jesus told us to pray: deliver us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Do we take notice or blunder headlong into temptation?
I believe we underrate prayer, especially this prayer. Why would Jesus tells us to pray it, if that was not important. Have a look again at the 'Lord's Prayer'. Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive the sins of others.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
First we glorify God our Father, and pray for His will to be done, then we ask for our physical needs, next we ask for forgiveness and forgive others, finally we ask for divine protection. A complete package!
James tells us that we are tempted by our own evil natures, that is our lusts. He is right! He says God does not tempt us. This is also right. So, in praying that we be delivered from evil, we are asking for self-control.
Selfishness, self-pity and all self issues are lusts of thr flesh. These we need deliverance from. Our God is able! Amen!
