treasure
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 1 John 2:15-16 NLT
What do you crave? My head craves a coffee in the morning and like spoilt, petulant, child will complain if it does not receive one. Do you know what lust feels like? Did you assume that it was a good desire that drove you to perform?
Jesus said: do not worry about you life, what you should wear, what you should eat, isn't life more than food and the body more than clothing (Matthew 6:25).
Jesus did not have a home, He did not carry around a suitcase full of clothes, yet He knew His Father would provide all His needs, and He did. I think I would need one change so that I could clothe myself while I washed, and spare undies.
This King of glory did not have a horse and cart; He walked. He did not need fancy rings that I see on so many preschers. He had a treasure unrecognised by all. He knew where He came from, and where He was going. His treasure was words of knowledge, healing, miracles, compassion for the hurting. For this God the Father gave Him authority. Treasure indeed!
