clothed in humility
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Colossians 3:12 NLT
Moses was reputed to be the most humble man that lived. What made him humble? He spent an awful lot of time with the Lord, and he determined to obey, failing once when he was angry with the people. For this he was excluded from the Promised land. A hefty price! Yet Moses was willing to confront sin. This he did righteously (godly motives).
So, humility is not an unwillingness to confront, but rather a determination to do it in the Lord. Confrontation in the flesh gets us nowhere.
Today my youngest brother was dragging bottom. He was depressed and saw no reason to continue. Fortunately we, his family, gathered around him and gave him reason to continue. My brother does not walk with the Lord. I was able to tell him I pray for him daily and that he is loved. I told him that the photos I take of his grandchildren and photos on Facebook, my neices and nephews, are for him. I told him they ask about him. He replied, "I didn't realise that!" I will do this more often him and continue to encourage him to hope. Recently he lost his partner, she died with a brain aneurysm. Being alone can make you think your life does not matter, but someone needs to remind us, it does.
I am afflicted with the ability to confront, I try to do it responsibly and know that the result is in God's hands. Amen!
