self-righteousness
Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts of the Apostles 2:38 NLT
Although we do not.like to be told to repent, there is no access to God's saving grace without it. If Jesus recognised the need for us to be saved from our sins, the least we can do is consider the truth of the matter.
Self-righteousness revolves around us being a god with the power to determine what we consider is sin and goodness. If we insist on self-righteousness, we smack Jesus in the heart with our claims we are good enough for a pure and holy God.
We crucify Him again and again by this behaviour.
Conversely, we need to repent of our arrogance, and seek His way of being good. Amen!
