tenderhearted mercy

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Colossians 3:12 NLT

How do you handle selfishness in others, when you yourself am suffering? How do you take financial usery  in Christian leaders? The natural response is offense. We must dig deep to find what God wants us to learn, instead.

Last night I had both of these, but knew I am also selfish and also cold towards the needs of others. This took me to prayer and a cry for mercy for the Holy Spirit to be poured out on our hardened hearts.

If we are not soft and loving, desiring justice and mercy in our own hearts, then we are hard-hearted. Jesus was not hard-hearted hearted. He was gracious, forgiving and patient with His own, even though they were still squabbling over who was the greatest among them the very night He was to be betrayed. Judas lived with these men. Perhaps he despised them, perhaps he was offended at them and Jesus for not pulling them into line
