When we come before God He sees into our deepest parts. He is not fooled by our noise, our performances in public, our hypocracy. His word reveals truth to us, it cuts through bone and marrow and reveals the hidden agenda. Our self- efforts are no longer disguised. The word telling us the truth, helps us face God in truth, and come fo repentance. Repentance sets us free.
David, a man after God’s own heart had sinned terribly. It started with lust, adultery and finished with murder. He had become so removed from God’s presence that he was no longer hearing truth. However, God loved him and sent Nathan the prophet to convict him of his sin by telling him a story. God knew it would work, and it did. However, the child born from the adulterous act died. In grace God allowed the second child born of this relationship, Solomon, to be His chosen successor to David.
Repentance cleansed David, it will us as well. Amen!
