A den of thieves

“He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer for all nations,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”Mark‬ ‭11‬:‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

My study bible tells me that Jesus was fulfilling prophesy here that given by Ezekiel and Malachi.
However the words Jesus speaks and refers to are from Jeremiah 7:11.

So much of what Jesus was, did and said was written beforehand in scripture. He is the fulfilment of scripture. I am sure He did not sit down and decide which he was to fulfill, it was a matter of course, it was who He was.

Prophesy is still active in the world today. Prophesy of old is still being fulfilled. Right now there is a great outpouring of the Spirit all across the world. Young people are coming to know Jesus in a magnificent way. These are the end times. To be alive now is an honour indeed. Come Lord Jesus!

Prophesy is at work in our own lives. We are a part of it and cannot escape it. Praise God that He gives prophesy so that we can know the future. The future is His. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
