“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.”
Colossians 3:12 NLT
The verse before the above states:
“In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.”Colossians 3:11 NLT
In my church we have Fijians, Asians, Nigerians and a mix of various others. In my city we are gathering many Indians, Arabs, Nepalis and the like. My city has gone from white man’s city to a multicultural city. It was not so long ago that the then mayor objected to Sudanese families being settled here. I was horrified at his elitism.
Humility allows us to accept others from nations we have had nothing to do with. Grace enables us to serve these folk. Our Fijian folk are having their own services on a Sunday afternoon starting this week. What a blessing!
Our God is the God of all nations, after all we all came from Noah. Many coloured skins were in his genes. Praise God for His diversity! Amen!
