God’s temple

“Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?”1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In any house you do not see the front door deciding it does not like the house and consequently leaving, or the kitchen bench becoming angry with the cook who uses it daily and deciding it is moving to the bathroom, or the windows deciding they are not happy with the walls and want new walls. This is crazy.

Our need, as the body of Christ, is to come to the realisation of what it means to be a part of God’s temple. God was very specific about how the temple should be built, what the curtains were made of, the basins and candleholders. We cannot fathom the intrigue and depth of what all this means, and probably won’t until we arrive in heaven and discover the similarities. Everything has a purpose, every pattern has a reason for being there.

As a house for the Holy Spirit we cannot entertain criticism, shame and guilt, the lusts of the flesh or any uncleanness. In the book of Ezekiel God took Ezekiel, in the spirit, to the temple in Jerusalem and showed him all the wickedness  that occurred there. God did not tolerate it then and He would not be happy with it now. However, because we are in a season of grace it appears He does. Pay day is coming. Amen.
