I awoke this morning convicted of my language. For a long time I have called myself an ‘old fart’ in jest. Today I know that this is crude and not how God would see me or present myself. Whatever is good, clean and lovely does not cover this.
My son posted a clip of Elon Musk decrying the fact that there are too many old leaders in the world today. He implied they are hanging on to life and he said he was not afraid of dying. I pray he understands eternity. I agree with the man. In Paul’s letter to Timothy he urges him to teach old men to impart wisdom to the younger generation, we can do this without being in charge. The older generation can train and release the next generation, being their soaundimg boards.
The younger men have a fresh vision and fresh outlook. My church is in the business of training up and using the young to preach. I enjoy their life. The current outpouring of the Holy Spirit is on young people. Let us remove the barriers on them and be there for them. Amen!
