“But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.”
Psalms 56:3 NLT
This morning I am up early to go and watch some unusual hot air balloons take off from in the centre of the city. It is unusual to have them take off from such a place, having ridden in one before in an open field. These particular hot air balloons are called skywhales. This should be interesting.
Whilst hof sir balloons have less deaths in a flying sport a few have exploded killing all on board. Also landing can be difficult, if a wind picks up you are in trouble.
I have flown in many things, I think my favourite was paragliding. However, to parashute was least. The free fall is fast and it is hard to breathe and the whole thing is over within minutes where with paragliding you have longer. We have a site near here where flyers can take off and continue for many miles over farmland. I have done this three times and would do it again. I have been in a glider and did not like the containment from the outside. I enjoy helicopters and small planes but still prefer to be outside. My balloon trip was when my children were young and it was hotter than I expected, due to the gas burners.
So, today I am just an observer. I would like to be a flyer but today is not my day for that. I pray for safety for all involved. Storms are coming from down south so they only have a window of time.
In all things dangerous we must trust the Lord. If it is our time to go we go, we go to Him, there is no better a place to be. Amen
