Offence

“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.”

Today I had an opportunity to talk to the grandmother of my great neices and nephews. She is raising them. I admire what she does and the effort she puts in. She had discovered her eldest grandchild was being secretive and defensive about her behaviour. She accused her Nan of invading her privacy. This is painful to watch as I have seen how well the child has been cared for.

 I have noticed that when we try to defend our sinful habits we forget about those who sacrifice the most for us. When we insist on defending sin we are making room for strongholds. Repentance breaks the strongholds. It is the only way we can become free. I am praying for such a breakthrough.

I hugged the Nanna and encouraged her that she was indeed doing a fine job. She constantly gives opportunity to repent and does not bear grudges. I pray God’s mercy and grace upon her.Forgiveness is important, however, we are not to make ourselves doormats to sinners. Amen!
