Pure in heart

“God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.”Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Pure in heart have no malice, are not pulled by worldly lusts and attitudes, they are single focussed.

Jesus put a child in the midst of He and His disciples to teach about singleness of focus.:
“Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The disciples were constantly argued about who was the greatest, they were driven by ego. Jesus wanted them softer, more pliable. They needed to look away from earthly lusts to His example of servanthood. Even up to His ascension they thought He would establish His earthly kingdom. The book of Revelation shows us the position that the apostles carry in eternity.

When Jesus returns to rule in the millennium, they will return with Him to rule then. However, history shows us they were chastened by the experiences they had before death. It will be interesting to see them back on earth.
