“Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise!”Psalms 47:1 NLT
Psalm 145 speaks of joyful praise. Here are a few verses:
“Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness. Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness.”Psalms 145:4-7 NLT
Our God’s righteousness has been revealed in Jesus Christ. Having a saviour and being freed from saving myself by attempts at righteousness is a reason for great joy. As we prepare to celebrate Christmas we can be filled with joy because of this awesome freedom. I am no longer responsible for my righteousness, I have been given a divine righteousness that I did not pay for, deserve or earn. All I had to do was trust the One who offered it to me.
Joy! Wonderful joy!
