“Now concerning that day or hour no one knows — neither the angels in heaven nor the Son — except the Father. Watch! Be alert! For you don’t know when the time is coming. It is like a man on a journey, who left his house, gave authority to his slaves, gave each one his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to be alert. Therefore be alert, since you don’t know when the master of the house is coming — whether in the evening or at midnight or at the crowing of the rooster or early in the morning. Otherwise, he might come suddenly and find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to everyone: Be alert! ”Mark 13:32-37 HCSB
We become alert when we sense danger, when we see fires coming, dangerous storms arising, violence on the streets, and as many did during the world wars, the arrival of the enemy. Otherwise, we slumber, not seeing the insidious enemy at work in our midst. It is this enemy that is more dangerous. He comes to rob, steal and plunder. He seeks to steal hearts and minds away from the desire to follow and be faithful to Jesus. He wants to populate Hell.
Satan’s ploy is to lull the masses to sleep. He wants them sliding down the slope to Hell. He wants them to not believe he is real and at work in their midst. He works to have the masses hate and turn away from God, and believe they are their own gods. He has been very successful.
Yet, when the enemy comes in like a flood, God says: “I will raise up a standard against him!” There is power in the name of Jesus. He si enough! He is saviour and Lord!
We must believe He is God, He is enough! We must stand our ground and rebuke the enemy! No more baby talk and whining! Amen!
