“If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”Mark 3:25 HCSB
This scripture was a part of Jesus’ reply to the accusation that he drove out demons by the power of Satan. He went on to say:
“On the other hand, no one can enter a strong man’s house and rob his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he will rob his house.”Mark 3:27
Jesus did indeed tie up the strongman and He Himself was the stronger man. Today many are troubled by evil spirits. These spirits harass peoples minds until they believe a lie and accept a condition that the evil spirit imposes. When given fully to that idea the idea becomes their reality. They will then defend the lie and attack the truth.
When I hear people say, “my arthritis won’t let me … “ I think what a horrible pet! I do not want pets that are driven by evil spirits. The power of God came so that we would be free from evil in our minds, hearts and bodies.
Jesus embodied what a free man looked like. He never confessed evil over His life, conversely He confessed the power of God. The only time He confessed being troubled of spirit is when He faced the cross. What He did then shows us the way to overcome. He prayed! Then He went and faced the cross!
This is our way! Amen!
