“But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!”Amos 5:24 NIV
Have you read the previous verse? “Away with your noisy hymns of praise! I will not listen to the music of your harps.”Amos 5:23 NLT
Amos tells the reader what injustice is:
“How you hate honest judges! How you despise people who tell the truth! You trample the poor, stealing their grain through taxes and unfair rent. Therefore, though you build beautiful stone houses, you will never live in them. Though you plant lush vineyards, you will never drink wine from them.”
Amos 5:10-11 NLT
In Australia rents are unaffordable. The owners justify their greed and care little for the poor. Companies care little for their customers and more for their shareholders. They crush the poor with high prices and bad service.
Compassion is lacking. True love for God is absent and a show is in place. Let our worship fill all we are and do and be evident in justice! Amen!
