The fight

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”2 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The challenge for each Christian is to finish the race well. Because the track is long, in most cases, finishing becomes more a challenge as routine and ease sets in.

Yesterday, I was confronted by a friend who thought I dropped the ball in something I had been involved in. Her view was skewed by her own experience and opinion. The task the Lord gave me was to fight for a particular outcome for refugees in my church. I had done that and knew the task was finished. Turning up mindlessly forever was not my task. I am grateful the Lord uses me to pioneer and then moves in my replacements. He knows the best use of the skills He has given me. I am now moving on to a new project.
However, my walk with the Lord is non-negotiable. He must always be first.

Lately, the Lord has blessed me with frequent contact with one of my grandsons. I love it!! I am able to speak strong relations with the Lord into his life, and love him in his journey. I cannot compromise right relations with my Lord, but I can encourage my grandson to find his.

My race is against my enemy and worldly lusts. I must keep my eyes on Jesus! Amen!
