In the beginning

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I have astronomer friends who mock this statement and ai constantly pray that their eyes will be opened. To believe the universe came into being without divine intervention requires a lot of faith or blind foolishness the order and the laws that govern space cannot be random. When have we ever seen radom order be created out of nothing?

And Yes it requires faith to believe in a God who created all things, but first you need a revelation of His love to understand. All things seen have been created, but the big WHY hangs. When we see the smallest of creatures perfectly formed and most beautiful of flowers how could they randomly come into being. If I wanted to bless my children and create a world they would constantly wonder at, I could do no better.

Our God has done just that! We may not love Him, so why would He love us? The answer is, because He is love. The question is now, can ai believe such perfect, selfless love exists? 1 Corinthians 13 tell us the attributes of that love:

“ “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭4-7 NLT‬‬

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged. Keep Watch

Proverbs 4:23‭-‬27 MSG https://bible.com/bible/97/pro.4.23-27.MSG Eyes straight! Jesus taught to keep our eyes on Him. When we drive down the road we must focus straight ahead. Myself, I tend to drive where I look and therefore cannot afford to look to the right or left. This is the same in life. There are times of extreme stress when we are surrounded by problems and drama. It is important, at such times, that we control our thoughts and focus on what is ahead. By focussing on Jesus we contain our thoughts in a zone that already is successful. This is also called walking by faith in the Son of God. We can trust Him! Amen!
