You will be handed over

““Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves. But beware! For you will be handed over to the courts and will be flogged with whips in the synagogues. You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell the rulers and other unbelievers about me. When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”Matthew‬ ‭10‬:‭16‬-‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is interesting that this is the scripture for today! My Nepali friend who has charges against him has been allowed to stay out of jail whilst his opponents gather evidence. Normally the accused is imprisoned for up to 27 days. My friend was free to return to Karhmandu some 5-6 hours drive away from where he was charged. This is a miracle in itself.

Our God is indeed great! He goes before us and follows us with His mercy and grace. My young friend is being well cared for. However, whilst his enemies are ‘collecting evidence’ he needs to be vigilant and prayerful, as are we who pray for him.

May we remember to be shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves! Amen!

Eternal Life

Teacher I beg you to look at my son because he is my only don. Luke 9:38 For God so loved the world He sent His only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Luke has several stories about parents losing single children. Jesus healed them all. The Only Son reached out to these single child families. Jesus was the favoured only Son. Yet the Father knew He was the Only answer. Abraham was tested regarding his willingness to give up his only son, way back in the beginning, but he was spared because there was one destined to come and pay the perfect price. Amen! The blood of Christ was perfect as it was without spot or blemish. There was great power in that blood, enough power for all men, for all time. The blood secures us freedom from eternal darkness, it brings us into eternal life. Amen! Invite Him in and watch 'life' change your world. Amen!

Keep Watch

Myself, I tend to drive where I look and therefore cannot afford to look to the right or left. This is the same in life. There are times of extreme stress when we are surrounded by problems and drama. It is important, at such times, that we control our thoughts and focus on what is ahead. By focussing on Jesus we contain our thoughts in a zone that already is successful. This is also called walking by faith in the Son of God. We can trust Him! Amen!
