Our steps

“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Yesterday, on my way home from the swimming pool I was grieved with plastic rubbish. In fact I have been ever since I came to Nepal.

Last year I conducted research on ways to manage this rubbish but kept coming back to finance. However, this time I strategised: ‘why not discover how to obtain the finance?’ This time I used AI. I discovered a wealth of information. Now I have the how and where, ai already had the why.

After I did all my research I left it with the Lord and prayed. I then spent time doing some artwork and continually asked the Lord, “what do You say?”

I am awake in the wee hours and the answers are flowing. My greatest concern was who to partner with in the Nepali world. I think I have my answer.

My question was: “can I make house bricks with PET bottles?” The answer is ‘yes’. The recent floods that wiped away complete villages had given me incentive. Why not use plastic that is polluting this beautiful country to supply cheap and flexible housing?

Now, with my plans submitted to the Lord, I will see what He brings forth. His plans are best and His way is the only way. Amen!

No surrender to fear

““Don’t worry or surrender to your fear. For you’ve believed in God, now trust and believe in me also.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭1‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Yesterday tens of thousands of youth stormed Parliament House here in Nepal. It has been reported that 20 were killed and hundreds were injured. I had stayed away from the area believing it to be unsafe and it was. Today, now that young people have been killed, there will be a greater strife brought about by parents of those who went to the protest. Milling children is never a good idea. Nepal has had a long history of strife. It has a civil war that lasted 10 years not so long back. Corruption fills the government and the people are not happy. However, underneath there are lovely human beings who need salvation. As in any race of people, there are people who have needs. I cannot be afraid of the uprest. I have a God who is the master of peace. He is good! I must trust Him. Amen!

Guard your heart

“So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬ ‭TPT‬‬ I want to focus on the last sentence here, because it is explains why the first. I have an old friend who used to say to me, “Di let peace be your governor”. It was easier said than done. I was going through some very difficult times when he told me that. However, he was right. Yesterday was a difficult day in part. I had determined to give my body a day of rest. I walked several kilometres to church and attended the prayer meeting. Unfortunately, after the prayer meeting I was best by refugees wanting my help. It became very frustrating and by the time the service started my insides were a mess.
