The Lord watches over you

“The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭121‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I am awake at midnight and have been praying for those still alive and caught in the recent flood here in Nepal.

People are still being found. Yesterday a 60yo lady was found, a young boy was found and several hydro workers have been rescued.

I think of thise still alive in mud and rubble. I imagine what it must be like to be trapped and unable to save yourself. A small baby was also found in rubble. How can life sustain for so long without food or water? 

What would be going through the minds of the people. Whilst these people were found. What about those who may not have been found and lay trapped knowing they were probably going to die buried alive. I pray they encountered Jesus. 

Lord have mercy! You are our life, our strength and our song.

Guard your heart

Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬ ‭TPT‬‬ I want to focus on the last sentence here, because it is explains why the first. I have an old friend who used to say to me, “Di let peace be your governor”. It was easier said than done. I was going through some very difficult times when he told me that. However, he was right. Yesterday was a difficult day in part. I had determined to give my body a day of rest. I walked several kilometres to church and attended the prayer meeting. Unfortunately, after the prayer meeting I was best by refugees wanting my help. It became very frustrating and by the time the service started my insides were a mess. The Good News

“For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.”  Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Back in 1974, I turned 21. For my birthday my husband to be gave me a Bible with this verse underlined. In 1974 we were all on fire and wanting to share the gospel of Christ. It is still a potent verse today.  Why did Paul write this verse? In verse 14 he wrote: ‘I am obligated both to Greeks and babarians. Who were Babarians? Not the Romans, but rather the people of Spain and Asia Minor. Again why did he write verse 16? Why would he be ashamed of the gospel? A crucified Jew being God seemed strange to Roman ears. The Romans despised the Jews. Those crucified were the lowest of low in society.  Onky the Holy Spirit could make any testimony powerful, and this He did.
