The word

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Who was the word? Jesus! He is God, always was God!

In August I was in Amsterdam and had been out for the day, when returning to my accomodation I was met by three Muslim preachers. They tried to tell me Jesus was only a prophet and I took them to task.

After a healthy discussion, I prayed for them and left. I told them that Jesus was who He said He was. I told them Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father but through Me!”

I will not fool around with rubbish about what men, who choose to deny Jesus’ deity, believe. I did not give them room. They accused me of being rude and not allowing them to speak. I said, “I am a preacher! This is what I do!” I took advantage of my age and let them have the gospel.

We will all stand before the judgement seat of Christ, note Christ! The Father has given all things into Jesus’ hands. He will separate the sheep from the goats. The sheep are those who believe and the goats are those who reject Christ as Lord. I want to be in the sheep.

He is coming soon!

Come Lord Jesus!

Doing to others

““Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.” Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬ This verse, in some bibles begins with a ‘therefore’ and comes after verses describing how God the Father gives good gifts to His children.  It infers generosity towards others. God is our example. Forgiveness must be the centre of our attitude. If it is at the centre then annoyance and offence at others is overridden with generosity. It is also the centre when Jesus also teaches: if a man demands your shirt, give him your cloak also ( Matt 5:40). To be able to behave like this you must be secure in God. He is your source and supply. Amen.

Guard your heart

“So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬ ‭TPT‬‬ I want to focus on the last sentence here, because it is explains why the first. I have an old friend who used to say to me, “Di let peace be your governor”. It was easier said than done. I was going through some very difficult times when he told me that. However, he was right. Yesterday was a difficult day in part. I had determined to give my body a day of rest. I walked several kilometres to church and attended the prayer meeting. Unfortunately, after the prayer meeting I was best by refugees wanting my help. It became very frustrating and by the time the service started my insides were a mess. Afterwards I knew I should have waited until after church to talk to them and I should have places boundaries in place. Even though I do not represent all the refugees they see me and c...

Christ is enough

“For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬ In the book of Galatians Paul is addressing religiosity. The Galatians are being deceived into following a doctrine that tells them they must be circumcised as well as receiving Christ.  It is interesting that when people become convinced to be religious they then start destroying one another. Self-righteousness has that effect. We start to believe ‘I am so good, you are less than me because you do not do what I do!’ Paul’s whole message is Christ is enough! In Him is all the freedom we need. There is nothing more I can do to be a Christian. I must follow Him! Amen! Christ is enough for me!
