Reliable

Genesis 8:22 (AMP) While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. After the flood the Lord made several promises, 1) He would not again destroy the earth with a flood 2) while the earth remained, the seasons, day and night would continue. 3) He would bless Noah and his family. We have comfort in knowing that God will keep His word and that the seasons would remain. I wonder how this matches with all those who proclaim that Global Warming is changing things? Today as I sit writing this the cold of winter has come to Wodonga Victoria, albeit a little late but it is here. The trees are losing their leaves and displaying the glory of death. I, personally know my God is a God who keeps His word and I can trust Him. To know the Lord, really know Him, de -mystifies Him and makes Him real. A real God, who keeps His word is warm, not cold. Jesus made the way for the Father to be the father by paying the price of judgeme...

Relationship

Matthew 3:17 (AMP) And behold, a voice from heaven said, This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight! Genesis 6:8 (AMP) But Noah found grace (favor) in the eyes of the Lord. It is good to be in the same relationship with the Father as the Son was. Previous to Noah there was Enoch who walked with God and was not. We could count up on two hands perhaps, maybe four, those who get a mention as having a special relationship with the Lord. What did they have? A desire to know God, a love for God. Jesus made a way for all to come near, to have sweet fellowship with the Lord. The father is waiting for those who seek Him first, who love Him. Judgement cannot hold us at bay.We are free to pursue the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind. As we pursue the Lord we find freedom, true liberating freedom, deep down in our souls. What can God do with a man or woman whose heart belongs to the Lord? Wow!

Trust

Genesis 3:7 (AMP) Then the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; Amazing! The very opposite to what the serpent had led them to believe. He told them that their eyes would be open and they would know the difference between good and evil. He indicated power, greatness that they did not have. When their eyes were open they saw their lack, their failure, their powerlessness. They saw their nakedness. When they knew both good and evil, God said they they were now like the Godhead, knowing good and evil, blessing and cursing, they were dangerous and could no longer eat from the tree of life and had to leave the garden. God had not planned for us to know 'good and evil' but presence, relationship and trust. Trust comes out of relationship yet knowledge blocks the simplicity of trust, especially if it is relied on instead of relationship. In our independence we prefer knowledge, being self-made appeals to us, it gives us a glory of our own. We wer...

It is Good!

Genesis 1:31 (AMP) And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it completely. The first chapter of Genesis we see a loving God create, piece by piece, step by step. After each step He said 'It is good'. We can rush through the chapter and think 'yeah, yeah' but the creator took time with each step. Although he was God He measured each step and enjoyed each step and said 'it is good'. There is a lot of love here, a whole lot of thought. As we create we can take the time to think, appreciate and enjoy our creations. As we create relationships we can believe and know that we are going somewhere. Taking time is good, taking time to build each step is good and taking time to appreciate is very good. God sets us free, step by step. We should enjoy the journey so that we really appreciate the finished product. Thank you Lord for time and process. Amen!

Jewels

Malachi 3:17 (AMP) And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure). I treasure friends as jewels, I prefer good friends to jewels. Good friends reflect the glory of God. What is the attribute of a jewel? 1) It belongs to someone. Belonging means faithfulness, relationship. My heart is yours and yours is mine, deal faithfully with me. At times when there are two friends involved in a dispute I look for truth in my relationship with these friends. Sometimes it is hard and I have to back off and allow the friends time to sort things out. Sometimes I lose, especially when I do act, either too late or too early. Sometimes, when I am feeling betrayed by one I will favour the other. Sometimes I am wrong and suffer the consequences and lose a jewel. 2) A jewel has a beauty all of it's own, it reflects glory, it has character. A jewel is transparent. 3) A jew...

Marriage

Malachi 2:15 (MSG) God, not you, made marriage. His Spirit inhabits even the smallest details of marriage. And what does he want from marriage? Children of God, that's what. So guard the spirit of marriage within you. Don't cheat on your spouse. I love it that my God is committed to marriage, that His Spirit inhabits even the smallest details of marriage. This passage is full of love. My God loves us, He gave us the beauty of marriage and He honours it and protects it. Our God wants us to create and pass on a love for Him through our children. Marriage is not for our own selfish desires but a place where He can intertwine Himself in our bonding. God sees His relationship with us as a marriage, a holy union, a covenant which He honours and desires that we honour. Lord may I honour You today. Amen!

Thirst

Revelation 22:17 (MSG) "Come!" say the Spirit and the Bride. Whoever hears, echo, "Come!" Is anyone thirsty? Come! All who will, come and drink, Drink freely of the Water of Life! Generally our taste buds, which have been trained, call the shots when we thirst. If we long for cool clean water then it shows our habits. If we long for creamy iced chocolates or coffee then this shows us what our focus has been, our belly. When we thirst for truth where do we go? Oprah or Dr Phil? or do we go to the One who made it all? To find truth I don't have to go to India, to Tibet or any other way out there place. Yet I do have to go to God and sometimes He plays hard to get. Why? His truth is precious and not thrown away lightly. I have to harness myself and learn to seek Him, I have to push in to Him for His truth. My Tibet is within. In the process of discovering truth I find a person, my lovely God. How beautiful He is. How great is our God! Amen!

Sheep-baaa!

Zechariah 11:7 (MSG) So I took over from the crass, money-grubbing owners, and shepherded the sheep marked for slaughter. I got myself two shepherd staffs. I named one Lovely and the other Harmony. Then I went to work shepherding the sheep. Shepherding! What a task! Without a shepherd there is no harmony and the sheep are definitely not lovely. Unshepherded sheep are dirty, fly blown, disorganised, in danger of being taken by a fox. Sheep need a lot of help to be lovely, they have the potential to be lovely but only if a shepherd takes them in hand. Otherwise they are crass, trampling down good feed, trampling down each other. I have to choose to be a shepherd, care enough for the sheep to be available, to diligent on their behalf and therefore have a life that does not prevent me from being available. Without a shepherd the sheep will be slaughtered.

The Voice

Zechariah 10:8 (MSG) I'll whistle and they'll all come running. I've set them free—oh, how they'll flourish! John 8:36 tells me 'he who the Son sets free is free indeed.' The result of freedom is a flourishing life. It is like springtime. How am I made free? Jn8:32 Jesus said 'if you abide (put up a tent and stay) in my word (hold fast to my teachings and LIVE in accordance with them) you are truly my disciples and you will KNOW the truth and the truth WILL SET YOU FREE'. Truth comes in many shapes and sizes, it comes from people the Lord brings into our lives. If our ears are not fine tuned to hear truth we will miss it because we will dismiss the messenger. Truth does not come just by the preacher but sometimes a simple man or woman. Our pre-concieved ideas can limit our ability to hear truth. A hungry heart that longs for truth will find it. It may be under a rock, behind a door, in a quiet broken individual. The trick is not to be so full of ...

Sin

Revelation 20:11 (MSG) I saw a Great White Throne and the One Enthroned. Nothing could stand before or against the Presence, nothing in Heaven, nothing on earth. I am amazed that Satan , even after he had been locked up for 1,000 in this chapter of revelation still came out breathing fire against the Lord and roused an army of 1,000,000 to fight against Him. When does this guy get the message he is beaten? He is so foolish to continue to rage against a powerful God. This is what sin is like, it is thoroughly wrong in it's perspective. The one who is caught is driven by stupidity. When we give ourselves to sin we lose our minds, we lose truth, we lose common sense. If God is God, and He is, then serve Him not sin. Don't be trapped by sin's evil lusts. Don't give up your freedom or your life to the deceiver. Freedom lives in truth, truth lives in Christ. Amen!

Freedom

Zechariah 6:12-13 (MSG) Be alert. We have a man here whose name is Branch. He will branch out from where he is and build the Temple of God. Yes, he's the one. He'll build the Temple of God. Then he'll assume the role of royalty, take his place on the throne and rule—a priest sitting on the throne!—showing that king and priest can coexist in harmony.' I have just seen the Lord differently. He is natural yet God. Forever I have rebuke myself for not being 'spiritual' enough and when those around me behaved naturally I shied away. The above scripture talks about a king and priest dwelling together in the same body. This was Christ, this is me if I allow it. Being afraid of my humanity and rejecting it because of sin is not on. My God will take me to embrace my humanity. I must enjoy it in faith. As I lead my team my God is using me to despook and despiritualise and debunk the lies of the devil. This is freedom indeed, I love it. I now like myself and enjoy...

God is moving

Zechariah 2:13 (MSG) Quiet, everyone! Shh! Silence before God. Something's afoot in his holy house. He's on the move! What is God doing today? Where is He moving? Men might disregard Him but He is still here and still moving. Show me Lord! what are You doing today? May I be involved? 'Watch what I am doing. Let me show you my glory says the Lord. Let me show you my greatness, my beauty, my majesty.' I am afraid Lord! I have seen You move before and seen then how men corrupt Your doings. I want You to remain God. 'I will take a man and mould him before your eyes, he will change and become my servant in my hand. His heart will be mine.' May he be a Joseph Lord who obeys Your every command. Amen!

Whole People

Zephaniah 3:13 (MSG) This core holy people will not do wrong. They won't lie, won't use words to flatter or seduce. Content with who they are and where they are, unanxious , they'll live at peace." Our God's purpose is to have us complete, whole before Him. As we become complete fear has no power, because perfect love casts out fear. Complete individuals are at peace, they live in truth, they bring the wholeness of God to their worlds. Complete people have no need to deceive, trick or seduce through flattery. Whole people allow others to be who they are and accept them as they are. Whole people do not use or harm others for their own ends. Expediency is not a part of them. Whole people are fun to be around, they display God's love and acceptance yet they do not allow others to trample their gardens (souls) as they appreciate who they are and themselves cannot be manipulated. Whole people display God's glory and bring healing to their worlds. Amen!

Seek God!

Zephaniah 2:3 (MSG) Seek God, all you quietly disciplined people who live by God's justice. Seek God. It is important to seek Him first. When we are going through a bad patch we may run to God because of our pain, yet He is more than that. Jesus is the doorway to true life. We can find life beyond pain that is full of us, but that path leads us away from Him and ultimately leads to destruction. What are we accumulating for, when we die we meet Him face to face and give an account. What will it all be worth then? How will it save us? We must allow Him to be the centre of our being, then all else will come together. Amen!

On Time

Habakkuk 2:3 (MSG) This vision-message is a witness pointing to what's coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn't lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It's on its way. It will come right on time. I love that the vision 'aches for the coming', glad I am not alone aching for it's coming. God's vision is deep down inside and because it is so, sometimes circumstances can make it appear gone, but..... it is still there, waiting for the fullness of time. God has shown me, again and again, He provides on time. If I received when I thought I should I would spend wrongly, but when it comes I know what it's designation is. Patience is so important! We go on time, we receive on time, we do on time, we are ready on time. By waiting for the Lord I am always ready. Rushing ahead finds me with bits missing, I am not coloured in yet, perhaps my edges are not defined yet, perhaps a big spot in the middle is missing colour and that person needs ...

The Army

Nahum 2:1 (MSG) Post guards, lay in supplies. Get yourselves together, get ready for the big battle. God has a plan. As the enemy comes in like a flood the Lord is raising up a standard against him. Our society is rotting, it sits in its filth, lazy, indolent, lovers of self but God sees the ones who hearts yearn for more and it is them He will bring out. We, His people cannot afford to be caught in the malaise of our society, we must be disciplined, our faculties trained for righteousness, with eyes straight ahead not caught by the lusts of the eye and the lusts of the flesh. As we centre ourselves in Him we become mighty. As we focus we become effective. As we listen for Him we become invincible. Lord, may Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, Amen!

A good story

Micah 6:5 (MSG) Keep all God's salvation stories fresh and present." Our testimony is full of God's grace. How He saved me from a lonely, unfulfilled life and filled it with Himself; how He showed me His faithfulness throughout the years; How He showed me how much He loves me; how he saved me from destruction; how he washed and forgave me; how He gave me His provision . Each of us have stories, many many stories. It is good to sit and talk to another about these stories, they come alive again and we remember how precious we are to our God. Sometimes our circumstances are not so good and it is then we must sit and talk and remember and stir up our faith. Good medicine is better when it rather than stuff that will make us worse is chosen. A good confession heals, a bad one digs a bigger hole and many nasty spirits jump in that hole with chains to bind us. I suppose that is why the Lord exhorts us to 'today choose life that we might live'. Amen!

Passionately Patient

Revelation 14:12 (MSG) Meanwhile, the saints stand passionately patient, keeping God's commands, staying faithful to Jesus. Passionately patient. I love that! Passion usually has to do with action, it is high energy. Never have I thought patience, which has to do with self-control, calming of one's passions, patient. I know I am passionate, yet my God is undertaking to soothe me, calm me, teach me self-control. I love it because the result is power in Him, in testimony. Aggressively I seek His Kingdom for my life. I want His wholeness, His future, His gifts, His benefits, but most of all Him. Last week I was sorely harassed yet I pursued a breakthrough. I had sleep deprived nights but God came through this morning. Joy came in the morning. I knew what I did not know last week, I have the power I needed last week, I have the mind of Christ for my circumstances and I will not yield, I want the Glory of God in my life, nothing less. Amen!

The Word

Micah 2:7 (AMP) Do not My words do good to him who walks uprightly? God's word is life. His word portrays His love and desire toward us. Who is he who walks uprightly? He who seeks the Lord, perhaps. I don't think this means we have to get it right all the time but it is more about the heart's desire. Do I desire the Lord? Yes! Then I am in. Last night, the man who came to church for the first time felt condemned because of His sin. We encouraged him, 'it will be okay, God is working it out for you.' My God's grace set him free and his grace will sustain him. Daily my God reveals Himself as my lover and friend. He constantly surprises me with good things. Amen!

Souls

and it of His own free will that He gave us birth as sons by His word of Truth James 1:18 Today I spoke salvation into being and tonight, a man who had been through DivorceCare gave his heart to the Lord. He had a problem with anger and because his brother was in jail for murder, a result of anger, he came to church to hear Alan Meyer speak on anger. What joy I know, a man who I had interceded for, came to know the one who can give Him peace. Thank you Lord! This afternoon I had a team meeting for DC and we strategised on how to reach more people. In the middle of the meeting this man phoned and said he was coming to church. Give me souls, many souls Lord! Many, many souls Lord! Give me a harvest Lord! Amen!

Salvation

Jonah 2:6 (AMP) I went down to the bottoms and the very roots of the mountains; the earth with its bars closed behind me forever. Yet You have brought up my life from the pit and corruption, O Lord my God. Jonah loved the Lord and His righteousness and hated lawlessness to the point he wanted to see those who practiced lawlessness to get their 'just desserts' and perish. In Jonah Chapter 2 I see the love Jonah has for the Lord yet he was about to learn to love what the Lord loved, the unseemly, the unjust, the violent. To teach Jonah to follow, the Lord had him in the belly of a whale for three days. How different he was to Jesus who did see and did submit. His time in the belly of the earth was preaching salvation to those in Paradise and taking them home. The book of Jonah shows me the heart of compassion the Lord has for the lost. I have been reading the books leading up to Jonah and they are full of God teaching His people a lesson. There is anger and vengeance. I lov...

Power

Amos 8:9 (AMP) And in that day, says the Lord God, I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the broad daylight. Revelation 11:13 (AMP) And at that [very] hour there was a tremendous earthquake and one tenth of the city was destroyed (fell); seven thousand people perished in the earthquake, and those who remained were filled with dread and terror and were awe-struck, and they glorified the God of heaven. Power is respected. The earth longs for the revealing of the 'Sons of God', it yearns for it's creator. Mankind longs for the revealing of God. Those who do not know God long for Him in the very core of their of their beings, they want a God who is great and powerful and personal. What do we do to reveal Him? What really impresses? Do we throw down our rods and turn them into snakes, just as the world does or do we step higher? What is there about the Kingdom of God that the world cannot replicate? They can create happy clappy clubs, great ...

Justice

Amos 5:24 (AMP) But let justice run down like waters and righteousness as a mighty and ever-flowing stream. When we endeavour to control those around us to suit ourselves we are being unjust. Justice is generous, it flows. It is not alone, righteousness flows with it. The water is clean and pure. Untainted by human intervention. Justice frees, brings life. Righteousness bring peace. We interfere when our anxieties, attitudes, fears become involved and then we contrive to contain. As soon as we contain blackness comes, steel bands arrive , the waters become fetid. I experience people trying to contain me but my vision empowers me to break out. In containment I hear the mumblings of the dead, I hear the hiss of the snakes. I cannot contain another because of what I know. Christ came to set people free not bind them, I must do likewise. As a lead I must lay the foundation and principles and live them myself and draw others to those principles. It must be God's ways not my way...

Vision

Joel 3:10 (AMP) Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, I am strong [a warrior]! What enables a person to do the above? Vision and an ability to hear the voice of the one who leads. I must reach into the spirit and touch the future for it is full of power, full of life. The present may tell me I am a failure or that I cannot become what I am destined to be. My enemy sure doesn't want me walking with vision, why I would be dangerous. I must let God's promises to me speak, I must see what He sees and choose to believe. As I believe I release the forces of life to bring into being that which is waiting to be born. I cannot allow the shallowness of mankind, the living for now as if that is all there is. My God is great and His plans for me are even greater. Amen!

The Army

Joel 2:7-8 (MSG) Nothing stops them. Each soldier does what he's told, so disciplined, so determined. They don't get in each other's way. Each one knows his job and does it. Undaunted and fearless, unswerving, unstoppable. I belong to the greatest army, my leader is a victor who speaks victory, overcoming. He won the greatest battle, he gave His life in that battle but it did not defeat Him. As I keep focus, follow, watch and listen and move I work with others, I know my job and I add to the whole. Undaunted, fearless, unswerving, unstoppable , this life is not about ease alone, it has it's place but I must be ever vigilant, watching, listening. I have a role to play, this life is not about me, I am here for the lost, ready with the way. Amen!

Faithful

Hosea 12:4 (MSG) But God would not be bested. God bested him. Brought to his knees, Jacob wept and prayed. God found him at Bethel . That's where he spoke with him. I am so grateful that my God cannot be bested by me or those around me, I can completely place my trust in Him and know that someone else cannot come to Him and persuade Him to be other than faithful to me. God is interested in my growth from His perspective as He alone is good and His thoughts alone are pure. He is taking me where He wants me to go and I trust Him because He is good. When I fully submit to His way then he reveals His plans to me. I can wrestle with God to bless me but in the end He blesses as He pleases, for this I am grateful as I can trust Him. Today I celebrate new life, today is the Christians true birthday for today it all became possible that God's Holy Spirit could indwell us, today the struggle is finished, today I am truly free. Amen!

Victory

Revelation 7:12 (MSG) singing: Oh, Yes! The blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving, The honor and power and strength, To our God forever and ever and ever! Oh, Yes! I can imagine as Christ went to Hell to set the captives free they were rejoicing. The Lamb that was slain comes triumphant to bring them home. Jesus lived for us and not for himself. He live for His call and not His flesh. Lord I am grateful for Your humility and submission. I could not live for you without your empowering Holy Spirit. Thank You Lord! Amen!

The Way

Revelation 6:16-17 (MSG) "Refuge! Hide us from the One Seated on the Throne and the wrath of the Lamb! The great Day of their wrath has come—who can stand it?" The wrath of the Lamb is coming yet in this time of Grace I rejoice for He made it possible for me to come. Today I celebrate His sacrifice and am grateful because He set me free from the price of sin, He made a way for me to come to the Father and He healed me of all my diseases. Lord I am grateful! Thank you for Grace so amazing. Amen!

Forgiveness

Blessed are the merciful for they shall be shown mercy. Matt5:7 When those close to us mistreat us and betray us it is hard to be merciful, yet being merciful brings a benefit to the giver, it releases and protects. I have experienced bitter disappointment but sitting in it rots my bones, I must move past it. I value my health too much to allow anger, bitterness and rage rule, I must forgive. In the Lord's prayer we see 'forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.' forgiveness is a cleansing stream, it is completely dropping from a great height the offense. We can know we have truly forgiven when we are totally free from it, a stream of living water courses through our spirit. As we come to Easter we hear Jesus pray 'Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.' Have you been crucified today? then forgive. Amen!
