Building on A Rock

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock.

Jesus had been teaching: narrow is the way that leads to life and few are those who find it; many will say to Him: "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name", and Jesus said He would say:" depart from Me you evil doers." Now this is obvious that many who call themselves Christian will hear these words. What then is the criteria for salvation? Jesus said: Hears His words and does them.

Perhaps we need to study His words more closely. At the beginning of the chapter Jesus said: "Do not judge lest you be judged." We could start there.

Right down to bedrock. A simple matter of trusting God to judge and letting go of offence, anger and unforgiveness. A good place to start. Amen!
