Therefore, whether at home or away, we make it out aim to please Him. For we must all appear before the tribunal of Christ, so that each may be repaid for what he has done in the body, whether good or worthless. 2 Cor 5:6-10
How was the tent today? Paul previously refers to the body as a tent. Today my tent took a long time to feel alive but now it is well alive and it is time for bed. Had I sat around all day I doubt I would have managed to 'feel' good at all. This morning I determined that I would climb my hill, and I did, although muscles were screaming, but again, as every day, the summit is worth the climb.
Whilst I live in this body I will rule how it feels, to the best of my ability. If I commit to an action, I must do it. Today I bought a new helmet and pumped up my tyres. I have not ridden since I was hit by a car in May, this is shameful and is being rectified. Admittedly I had to recover from the fractured pelvis and torn ligament in my left ring finger ( yes my finger is important as they operate the gears and for weeks it was in a splint), but now I have no excuse and I long to ride.
I cannot allow my tent to fall into disrepair and must keep it to the best of my ability. This includes what I put in my mouth. Though my mums baked custard was nice tonight, I am not a frequenter of desserts. Mind you the Lord's strength is much relied on.
Making my life pleasing to the Lord is also important and like everyone I mess up at times. I am so grateful for grace and forgiveness as I am for the gift of repentance. I can become excited and talk too much at times, I think it runs in the family.
Aren't we fortunate the Lord is, apart from being perfect, gracious and patient. Thank You Lord. Amen!
