The Christian Walk

We are pressured in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair; we are persecuted but not destroyed. We always carry the death of Jesus in our body, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who live are always given over to death because of Jesus, so that Jesus' life may also be revealed in our mortal flesh. So death works in us, but life works in you. And since we have the same spirit of faith in keeping with what is written: 'I believed, therefore I spoke,' we also believe, and therefore speak.
We know that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and present us with you. Indeed, everything is for your benefit, so that grace, extended through more and more people, may cause thanksgiving to increase to increase to God's people. 2 Cor 8-15

Is this the gospel you try to avoid? As a Christian we called to a life of dying to self let alone any persecutions that may come. Our comfort is not our doona, our friends, our family. He is our comfort and hope. Our security is no our own clever ability but His supply. Our family is the church of believers.

We cannot tithe our way into prosperity. We cannot give our way into blessing. Blessing is a result of God's goodness and our faith in His provision and blessing. Giving to get is a wrong gospel. Yet giving because of faith is a good gospel. Giving is imperative, as we die to self and take on the likeness of Christ we give out of His heart, where abundance dwells. There is a fine line between giving and receiving and it is called grace. It is by His grace I received salvation, it is by grace I receive His provision. My faith in Him is all I need.

As a homing pigeon I lock onto Christ. Where is He going? What does He see? What is in His heart? Again and again I must tear myself away from just principles and live out of Him. The principles only work because of Him. Amen!
