Believers and Non-Believers

Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? And what agreement does God's sanctuary have with idols? For we are the sanctuary of the living God. 2 Cor 6:14-16

If I value the fact that I am the sanctuary of God I will care for the temple and not link it to worshipers of other gods. Yet, this does not mean that I isolate myself from the world. I am to be 'in' the world but not 'of' the world. I am the light fit eh world and if I take the light away, what hope is there for the lost?

Being yoked to an unbeliever is like marrying an unbeliever, going into a business partnership with an unbeliever etc, sharing what belongs to God with an unbeliever. I will also not yoke with someone who claims to be a Christian but lives like an unbeliever.

Personally, I take this further and say I will not yoke, seriously, with someone who does not have the same values as me. Be they christian or non-christian.

I know what I have in Christ, I treasure it and will not allow any boot- stomping, self-centred individual to walk on my patch. I will defend my territory and will not yield it for love or money.

Now that that is established, I will then go from the place of security to win the lost and take these values with me.
