No Deceit

Therefore, since we have this ministry because we were shown mercy, we do not give up. Instead, we have renounced shameful secret things, not walking in deceit or distorting God’s message, but commending ourselves to every person’s conscience in God’s sight by an open display of the truth.

What is 'this ministry'? The ministry of showing Christ as opposed to the Old Testament Law. Jesus is whole different thing to legalism. When asked what the greatest law was He said: "that you should love the Lord you God with your whole heart, soul and mind and the second is to love your neighbour as yourself."

Along with the law was all manner of secret things, the hidden things, the thou shalt not things. However, in Christ is walking in the light as He is in the light. This light is where we have true fellowship with one another. It is also where we become candles in a dark world.

Jesus said: "You are a light set apart on a hill. Matthew 5:14. When I was trekking in Nepal, we would walk all day and some days would stumble into a small motel or village in the middle of nowhere. You could tell you were close to food, safety and rest because you saw the lights. This is what we are, places of refuge, food and refreshment.
