Go Thrrefore

Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18‭-‬20 HCSB

I am captivated by the correlation between 'all authority has been given to Me' and 'go therefore.' The disciples had been with Jesus over three years and had already been sent out under authority to minister. Jesus is extending the first training to all nations here. Yet, they had to wait for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit some 7-10 days later. When the Holy Spirit came they owned the authority themselves.

We have come to believe in Jesus but not the authority to pick up the mandate to go, well not many have. Perhaps what is required is a Holy Spirit encounter.

After the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples Peter stood and preached and three thousand came to believe. They then had an instant church to manage. However Jesus had said go and they had not gone, so the persecution came and moved them. Nothing like a bit of persecution to move you, to focus you and send you on your way.

We still have this mandate and the authority is waiting to be collected, as is the passport, to go!
