The Promise

For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 HCSB

Into a hopeless situation God speaks this promise. Israel has been harassed and plundered by Assyria. Isaiah was giving hope. The prophesy is about a future child who would be called Wonderful, counsellor, mighty God.

Into our world of devastation, sin and disease, the Son of God came, precisely whwn the Father decreed He would. Now, us who love Him wait in hope for His prophesied return. Yet today we remember the day He came to earth as an innocent child, humble, very vulnerable and totally dependant. In every way He was like us, except He knew no sin. How wonderful!

This same Jesus grew to be a man, learned obedience through what He suffered and went to the cross for us who were born into sin and paid our debt so that we could live as He lived, in fellowship with the Father. Thank You Jesus!

Today I am again grateful for my JESUS and His decision to come for me. Thank you! Oh come let us adore Him!
