The Word

This book of instruction must not depart from your mouth; you are to recite it day and night so that you may carefully observe everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in whatever you do. Joshua 1:8 HCSB

Joshua did not know that the apostle John would say of Jesus: He is the word made flesh. (John 1:14)

However, have you noticed, usually, they who know their bibles know the truth in it? The more one knows Jesus the more freedom they walk in.

God had instructed His people, through Moses, to learn His ways by repetition. Joshua had been there and he had hungered for more of God. Now Joshua is giving the same instruction.

The Christian is told to 'dwell in Christ' John 15, this can only be done by intimacy through prayer and Bible reading. We can know God in a way the Israelites could not, for now, He dwells in us. We are the temples God lives in. How blessed! Amen!
