The light

“And this Light never fails to shine through darkness— Light that darkness could not overcome!”
‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭TPT‬‬

In Australia there are caves called the Jenolan Caves not far from Sydney. When in the caves you need a light to guide you. Once when I was in the caves the guide turned off the lights and it was pitch black. To proceed without certainty of death would not have been possible. 

We live in a very dark world, one that darkens every day. Without a light to guide us we are fearfully lost. This scripture from the gospel of John tells us there is a light. Who is that light? The previous verse relates: “A fountain of life was in him, for his life is light for all humanity.”John‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ ‭TPT‬‬
Who was John speaking about? Jesus. Jesus said of Himself:  “I am light to the world, and those who embrace me will experience life-giving light, and they will never walk in darkness.”(John‬ ‭8‬:‭12‬ ‭TPT‬‬)
He also said: ‘I way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but through Me’(John 14:6)

We have a light, a safe and non-extinguishable light in Jesus. Yielding to Him is the best thing we can do. Amen!

God is our example. Forgiveness must be the centre of our attitude. If it is at the centre then annoyance and offence at others is overridden with generosity. No surrender to fear

““Don’t worry or surrender to your fear. For you’ve believed in God, now trust and believe in me also.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭1‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Yesterday tens of thousands of youth stormed Parliament House here in Nepal. It has been reported that 20 were killed and hundreds were injured. I had stayed away from the area believing it to be unsafe and it was. Today, now that young people have been killed, there will be a greater strife brought about by parents of those who went to the protest. Milling children is never a good idea. Nepal has had a long history of strife. It has a civil war that lasted 10 years not so long back. Corruption fills the government and the people are not happy. However, underneath there are lovely human beings who need salvation. As in any race of people, there are people who have needs. I cannot be afraid of the uprest. I have a God who is the master of peace. He is good! I must trust Him. Amen!

Guard your heart

“So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” Proverbs‬ ‭4‬:‭23‬ ‭TPT‬‬ I want to focus on the last sentence here, because it is explains why the first. I have an old friend who used to say to me, “Di let peace be your governor”. It was easier said than done. I was going through some very difficult times when he told me that. However, he was right. Yesterday was a difficult day in part. I had determined to give my body a day of rest. I walked several kilometres to church and attended the prayer meeting. Unfortunately, after the prayer meeting I was best by refugees wanting my help. It became very frustrating and by the time the service started my insides were a mess.
