The God Factor

Someone will say, "How are the dead raised? What kind of body will they have when they come?" Foolish one! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. And as for what you sow-you are not sowing the future body, but only a seed, perhaps of wheat or another grain. But God gives it a body as He wants, and to each of the seeds its own body. Not all flesh is the same flesh, there is one flesh for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another fish. There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the splendour of the heavenly bodies is different from that of the earthly ones. There is a splendour of the sun, another of the moon, and another of the stars; for one star differs from another star in splendour. So it is with the resurrection of the dead:
Sown in corruption, raised in incorruption;
Sown in dishonour, raised in glory;
Sown in weakness, raised in power;
Sown a natural body, raised a spiritual body. 1 Cor 15:35-44

Just as a farmer sows his seed and expects a harvest and can do his best to plan what the plant that comes from the seed will look like, only God knows what it's exact dimensions will be. This is what I call the God factor.

I cannot control certain things, I can control my faith but not the outcome of that faith. Why would I want to control all aspects of my life. Where is the adventure, where is the hush, the miracle, the excitement in that? I want to invite the Lord to be God because He adds dimension to my life, He is the spice, the flavour, the magic. Without Him, life is contrived and ordered and boring.

I want the God factor more than anything in all areas of my life, it adds depth, width, height. He is my colour, my palate. He is my sunrise and sunset.

What I look like in eternity I cannot dare to devise, because in dying I release all that is wiithin to Him and allow Him to bring forth a new body in His design. I know it will be good, because He is good. I know Him as a loving, gentle, kind God. What does such a being produce? That which is good. Amen!
