The Last Days

Now the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons, through the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared.
1 Timothy 4:1‭-‬2 HCSB

By 'last days' Paul is referring to the period that began when Jesus had come, died, rose again and ascended to the Father. We are still in the Last Days and in conjunction with other prophesies we see clearer that we are in the 'last' of the Last Days.

When Paul refers to 'now the Spirit explicitly says' he is probably referring to a prophesy at that time.
Further after this verse we see the behaviour of those Paul is referring to: 'they forbid marriage and demand abstinence from certain foods.' He is obviously referring to a cult movement of that time. We know all about these, we have had a few ourselves. Some have demanded mass suicide.

Why are we not content with the Word of God? What causes us to itch for strange doctrines? Recently, in the media there was a man predicting the end of the world. Now I know that this is coming but not how the man predicted. I am happy to watch God. He is moving by His Spirit and a revival is on the way. When things get dark the light gets brighter. Amen!

Jesus Himself said He did not know when the end would be only the Father knew. Let's be content with that and follow Him. Amen!
