The Way You Should Go

This is what the Lord , your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says: I am Yahweh your God, who teaches you for your benefit, who leads you in the way you should go.
Isaiah 48:17 HCSB

Jesus told us that He was the way. If He is the Way what does that entail? Currently, personally, I am reading Matthew. Not long after the beginning of Jesus' public ministry Matthew has Jesus up a mountain teaching His disciples His way. If we know He is the Way, then we need to discover what that looks like.

As I read Matthew, I am struck with the simple beauty of Jesus and how He cuts away revenge, selfishness and greed. He calls divorce, so you can marry someone else, adultery, which it is. If we don't spend time in the gospels we miss this teaching and lose our way.

If we lose our way them we are caught by every strange doctrine that comes along. These strange doctrine come to steal the Way from us so that we end up somewhere totally different to the truth and to the kingdom of God.

Stay focussed and stay in the Way!
