All are Welcome

Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to people He favors!
Luke 2:13‭-‬14 HCSB

I've seen single angels but not a host. A host is a multitude, as in a large number, maybe a football stadium crowd on a good day. That is an overpowering lot of powerful, glorious beings. All for a few shepherds. Verse 9 tells us they were terrified. Why did God choose shepherds? He had a thing about shepherds: Abraham was a shepherd, in an ownership way; Moses minded sheep on the backside of the desert; King David was a shepherd. Was it an honour thing?

Scripture tells us He chooses what is lowly to confound the wise. God chose a lowly virgin to bear His Son; He chose Jospeh a carpenter to father His Son, He chose fishermen and a tax collector to be His disciples. He did not choose the righteous, but the unrighteous.

What does this show us? We are acceptable whomever we are in whatever capacity we come. We can trust Him to accept us and welcome us in. Amen!
