Hope in Affliction

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3‭-‬4 HCSB

Many suffer in many different ways: some suffer physically, some mentally, some financially, some relationally. Yet all have One thing in common- a redeemer in Christ, a very present help in times of trouble. As each of us finds Him we find our hope, our deliverer, our saviour.

In laying down expectations of how things should be, we find the hope before us that takes us into new pastures. Laying Down self-pity, self-blame and recrimination is a must before we can embrace hope. Self cannot dwell with hope. Hope is pure and undefiled. Amen!

Suffering without a hope is hell. We are not in hell, we have a hope in Christ.

Paul suffered greatly in preaching Christ but he had hope in Christ. We remember him as a great teacher because he endured in hope and did not yield to self-pity. I am grateful he endured. I am grateful he killed self-pity! I benefit from Paul's example. He breathes hope into my world. Amen!
