Do Not Give Up

Therefore we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:16‭-‬18 HCSB

As we age, the biggest disappointment can be our bodies. They wear out. My knees are not what I would like them to be, neither are my shoulders and looking at photos of 40 odd years ago things have definitely aged. However, my inner me is much more mature.

For some of us those body parts are no longer there due to war or illness. However looking at the Paralympics I can see many who have not taken their loss as the end. It is up to us to defeat self-pity and take what we have and mould a better life.

Paul tells us to not focus on what we see. What we see is limited and can be full of disappointment. However if we keep our eyes on Jesus we have life. He is our joy, not our physical being. He is our source and supply. He alone can be trusted. Amen!
